What's On
SUNDAYS
We have two services every Sunday in Parc Dewi Sant (SA31 3HB):
-
Welsh-language service @ 10:30am
-
English-language service @ 5pm
We want to you to feel welcome in our church! We’ve provided answers to some FAQs below, but please contact us if you have any other questions.
Where do you meet?

We currently meet on the upper floor of Building 4 at Parc Dewi Sant, Job’s Well Road, SA31 3HB. Free parking is available in the car parks at the front and rear of Building 4.
The building entrance is via a white door under the arch between Building 3 and Building 4. The upper floor of the building can be accessed via stairs or a lift.
There’ll be some welcomers at the building entrance to show you where to go. If you have any questions, they’ll be happy to help!

Which service should I attend?

Usually, our morning service is in Welsh, and our evening service is in English.
The content of the two services (sermon, hymns, etc.) is completely different, so you are very welcome to attend both.
As we have several non-Welsh-speakers in our church, simultaneous translation into English is provided at the morning service. If you would like to use the translation system, our welcomers can provide you with the translation equipment and show you how it works. Most of our songs are bilingual and you are welcome to sing in either language.
Generally, on the second and third Sunday of each month, we take communion in the morning and evening respectively.

When should I arrive?

You are welcome to arrive 5-10 minutes before the service starts. Feel free to chat to someone or to just take a seat. If you would prefer to arrive at the last minute, that’s also fine!

What should I wear?

Most people in our church dress casually, but please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

What happens during the service?

Each service usually lasts around 60 minutes and follows roughly the same format:
-
Announcements about events in our church life
-
Two songs (which you can sing along with or just listen to)
-
Prayer (which you can just listen to)
-
Reading from the Bible
-
Sermon talk explaining the reading (e.g. our recent talks can be found here)
-
Two songs
-
Short prayer
What about children?

During term-time, we offer a Sunday School for 4-11-year-olds at the morning service. The Sunday School children usually leave after the first two songs and return during the final songs.
Children are welcome to stay in for the whole service (in both mornings and evenings), but there are crèche facilities available at both services.
Our Safeguarding Policy is available on our website.

What happens at the end of the service?

After both services, we offer free refreshments (usually tea, coffee and biscuits). Please stay to chat with us!
FELLOWSHIP GROUPS
Our fellowship groups are an opportunity to meet with a smaller group of people to read and learn from God’s word together. Our groups meet on a weekly basis during term-time. We usually work through a series of questions about a Bible passage and have a short time of prayer at the beginning and/or end of the session
We currently have three fellowship groups:
-
Tuesday @ 2pm: English-language (in Parc Dewi Sant)
-
Tuesday @ 7:30pm: Welsh-language (in attendees’ homes)
-
Thursday @ 7pm: English-language (in attendees’ homes)
If you're interested in joining a fellowship group, please contact us.
PRAYER MEETING
Prayer is one of the greatest gifts given to us by our sovereign God. We believe that there is power in prayer and that God listens and responds graciously according to his sovereign will. Prayer brings us closer to God and, when we pray together, it brings us closer to one another too!
We have a weekly prayer meeting at 7pm every Wednesday in Parc Dewi Sant.
The prayer meeting normally involves a short study on a Bible passage, reading about the work of Open Doors with the persecuted church, and sharing prayer points. We will then pray about the various topics that have been raised during the meeting.
On the last Wednesday of each month, we focus particularly on hearing about (and praying for) the work of our mission partners around the world.
